The Elephant Sanctuary provides a safe-haven for elephants and offers a platform for guest education and interaction. They offer guest and elephant driven programs where the most important part of the operation is happy elephants and satisfied guests. Their programs offer one of a kind elephant interaction and are unique to the Elephant Sanctuary. All the elephants are rescued African elephants and they have gained their trust through a unique reward based training program.
An Elephants hearing and smell are excellent but eyesight is moderate and best in dim light. A single Elephant deposits upwards of 150kg (330 pounds) of dung every day - about one dollop every 15 minutes.
